![]() With Volume&Weight disabled, cargo boxes are sufficient. Container Controllers + Extenders are completely necessary if you play with mass/volume enabled but optional when disabled.I consider myself a fairly advanced player current w/ A12 so I'll address this point by point and I had to break it up because i hit the character count: Container Controllers/Extenders, Cargo Boxes, & Connected Storage. ![]() If you can't turn fast enough, put some RCS on the ship. I usually don't put them on my ships until I'm almost done designing. Build your ship and test it out with cargo. My final piece of advice: start a game in survival and use the console command "cm" to switch back and forth between survival and creative. ![]() You can also look at ship mass and decide how much thrust you need. For example, if a ship is only designed to carry the player, I certainly don't need larger thrusters EVEN though they are more efficient. I have an excel sheet (please DO laugh at me) that I've used to write down all of these numbers so I can look at what I need. Each thruster as variables such as power in, mass, thrust, cpu usage. However, to store anything like combat steel blocks or generators or whatever, you'll need controller+extensions.įor thrusters, I like to look at efficiency vs. Normal cargo containers are great for things like medical supplies. Personally, I'd go with container controllers and extensions if you're going to be storing anything from POI raids. Thanks for any tips - if anyone knows a good tutorial or YouTube video covering some of these things that'd be great :)Įdit: I'm in Alpha 12 experimental, so I'm well aware that specifics are likely to change over the coming weeks, but I felt it was time to try and get my head around ship designing anyway. Am I missing something?Īlso, more generally, what's the best way & place to make a ship from scratch? I've made a creative world, but do I still need to start with an SV starter or can I just plop blocks down willy-nilly and then add a core when I decide where it needs to go? Do you build on a planet surface or in space? They eat up an insane amount of CPU but don't seem to do anything. I tried a ship with a single RCS and then just kept adding more and there was no noticable difference in turning speeds. ![]() I've done some brief experimenting and they really don't seem to do anything. Secondly, how do I choose thrusters? There are so many kinds! This is intended to be a level 20 unlock, T4 ship, so I assume T2 thrusters are better in every way than T1s. So I thought I'd start from scratch and make something for my precise needs atm.īut, some questions! First, why should I use Container Controllers & Extensions rather than just a bunch of Cargo Boxes? Is there any advantage either way? I've been using jrandall's snappily-named MXRSP-T4C A12, which is a great ship but a) has too many guns for my needs and b) struggles on high-G worlds. Hi all, I've started working on designing an SV. Submissions must be directly related to Empyrion Space and planet exploration (real free roaming) It takes place in a vast procedurally generated galaxy that includes hundreds of different solar systems. The game will feature space & planetary exploration, building & construction, mining & resource gathering, survival, crafting, terrain deformation, as well as space & land combats. ![]() Even over Empyrion, and that's saying a lot.Empyrion - Galactic Survival Empyrion is an upcoming 3D open world, space survival adventure in which you can fly across space and land on planets. I always say 7 DTD is the king of block shapes. Might as well go ahead and make a 22.5 degree angled bars block to go with the 45! Here are my screenshots where I need the new block. The new bars block might require it to morph with it's neighbor, like the countertop / sink. I like to build the first floor of my base with this shoot through window style, but it gets really boring having the same rectangle shape. The gaps are huge, and cannot be filled with trim such as the pole or roof filler. I've tried every variation of centered bars meeting up with the regular bars in every orientation. With the 2 options currently available, It is impossible to get 45 degree diagonal runs to meet up with 90 degree square runs. The shoot-through bars are what I'm hoping for. Is there such a post? Or have TFP ever posted a future shapes list? I searched for a post with everyone's block-shape wishlists. ![]()
